Federal Issues

Federal policy related to education can drive the actions of state and local education policymakers. These actions have addressed such education issues as students with disabilities, school meals, school safety to students with disabilities, assessments and staff evaluations, as well as seemingly non-educated issues as healthcare and immigration. As with state issues, NYSSBA works hard to advance the positions of school boards at the federal level. Here you will find information on key federal issues and examples of NYSSBA’s advocacy on these issues.
