Creating Tomorrow's Leaders Today

Born and raised along the border in a small barrio in Laredo, Texas, Consuelo Castillo Kickbusch overcame poverty, discrimination, and illiteracy to become a successful community leader. Though her immigrant parents couldn't provide material wealth, they gave her riches in culture, tradition, values and faith. These childhood riches sustained Kickbusch throughout her military career, where she broke barriers to become the highest ranking Hispanic woman in the combat support field of the United States Army. But after 22 years, she retired to fulfill her mother's dying wish - to return to her roots and lead her community.

Examine why we need to feed our youth positive nourishment such as mentoring, quality education, self-esteem, discipline and values. That while we desire to create leaders, thinkers and inventors for the new global community, we must also create a seamless school environment for student academic success.

Discover why leadership is about the legacy we leave behind. It's our job to plant the seeds of tomorrow's leadership in today's children.

Former Major League Baseball Player

Conquering Life's Curves

In 1986, Ed Hearn fulfilled his childhood dream as a member of the World Champion New York Mets. The following year with the Kansas City Royals, a sudden, serious shoulder injury brought a premature end to a very promising and brilliant career.

Less than six months after his baseball career ended, Hearn was diagnosed with three potentially life-threatening health conditions.

Once a strong, vibrant professional athlete, he was reduced to a man who could barely care for himself. Hearn hung on, though, and used these physical challenges to make the most incredible comeback of his life. Today, after three life-saving kidney transplants, months of dialysis, and a successful bout with cancer, he is truly an inspiration. As an author and speaker, his courage, faith and determination speak volumes as we face life's challenges. Don't miss his powerful message!
