Position Title:

Position Description:
The Superintendent shall be the chief administrative officer for the District. Responsible for the effective operation of the District, the general administration of all instructional, business or other operations of the District and for advising and making recommendations to the Board of Education with respect to such activities. The Superintendent shall perform all the duties and accept all of the responsibilities usually required of a Superintendent as prescribed by the Education Laws of New York State, the rules and regulations of the Board of Regents and Commissioner of Education, laws and regulations of the United States, statutes of New York State, and the policies, rules, and regulations established by the Board of Education.

Qualifications:

  • NYS School Administrator Certificate (SDL/SDA) or reciprocity application pending
  • Minimum of ten (10) years combined experience as a superintendent of schools, assistant superintendent of schools, district level administrator and building administrator, preferably in New York State.
  • Proven record of increasing learning for all students
  • Experience as a teacher and principal desired.
  • Educational leadership with strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communications skills
  • Knowledge of school finance and budgets
  • A demonstrated commitment to parent and community engagement
  • Ability to lead a team to develop, implement, and monitor the district’s vision and goals.
  • Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.

  • Recommend coaching personnel for appointment, validates certification for all paid and volunteer coaches, and evaluates all coaching staff.
  • Schedule all interscholastic athletic competitions, practices, and scrimmages.
  • Maintain compliance with all state, federal, and local laws.
  • Assist with supervision and evaluation of district staff.
  • Prepare and complete all required state, federal, and district reports associated with health, physical education, or athletic programming.
  • Prepare annual budget for athletics, health, and physical education.
