Be the Change for Kids Innovation Awards

The Be the Change for Kids Education Innovation Awards highlight successful programs that are making a difference  and setting the stage for children’s future successes in college, career, community and as citizens.  The cash awards are sponsored by the Colleges of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, SUNY Polytechnic Institute and are presented in September.

Champion for Change Award

The Champion for Change Award is presented annually to a current school board member, serving on a school board within their first 5 years, recognizing innovative and ethical leadership in fostering ground-breaking improvements in school district programs and operations. The successful candidate is a champion for children who fosters creative change that enriches educational opportunities and improves academic results. Candidates demonstrate leadership focus on enhancing learning and expanded educational opportunities for all students. The nomination deadline is March 16, 2018.

Everett R. Dyer Award for Distinguished School Board Service

The Everett R. Dyer Award for Distinguished School Board Service is presented annually to a current or former school board member to recognize his or her outstanding contributions to public education and children. Named to honor a former NYSSBA executive director, it is the Association’s oldest recognition award and is presented annually at the NYSSBA Annual Convention & Education Expo in October.
