William L. Miller is the 1st Vice President and Area 5 Director for the New York State School Boards Association. As Area 5 Director, Miller represents school districts in Jefferson, Lewis, Oswego, Oneida, Herkimer and Madison counties.
NYSSBA provides advocacy, training and information to school boards in support of their mission to govern the state's public schools. The NYSSBA board establishes policies to supervise, control and direct the business of the Association. Miller currently serves on the board's ad hoc BOCES Advisory Committee.
Miller has served on the Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES Board of Education in 2002. He was on the Mount Markham school board from 1993 to 2005, serving as president for six years.
Miller has been a Federal Relations Network and a State Legislative Network representative from Area 5 for the past eight years. He is also a member of the Oneida-Madison-Herkimer School Boards Institute.
Miller and his wife Julie live in West Winfield. They have three grown children.
