Position Description:
The GGUFSD District provides a structured nurturing therapeutic environment with ongoing assessment and data-driven targeted intervention as well as instruction that serves and supports the growth of over 300 students to overcome significant challenges, so they can learn and thrive in school and life. Located less than 5 miles from NYC, GGUFSD is an accredited day and residential NYS public school district for students aged 5 to 21 years. The program is designed to support students with academic and emotional/behavioral challenges. Student referrals are usually made by a local school district’s Committee on Special Education (CSE) or the local Department of Social Services.

  • The Greenburgh-Graham elementary, middle and high schools are staffed with dedicated professionals – trained in state-of-the-art instructional strategies – who provide quality instruction and support to their students.
  • Elementary through middle school students receive intensive specialized instruction in reading, writing and spelling through a language-based learning program. This program uses research-based, structured, systematic, multi-sensory approaches.
  • The High School program offers a variety of classes to meet a student’s needs at all levels of instruction. Through an individualized approach, the District prepares each student for the achievement of the required NY State assessments and a successful career pathway. The goal is for each student to achieve a high school diploma and either go on to pursue college studies or vocational training to become productive adults.
  • The District staff holds every student to a very high standard and provides the support to achieve it. Each student is given needed assistance, instructional strategies and accommodations to motivate improved academic achievement. Students are encouraged to take positive risks and to develop self-confidence.
  • Through the generous support of Hewlett Packard the High School has a state of the art technology program that supports the High School curriculum in creative and far reaching ways.

Deputy Superintendent

Position Description:
Responsible for directing and coordinating general administration and instructional programs throughout the school district.

  • Assists the Superintendent in the formulation and implementation of policies and procedures.

  • Oversees and supervises the master schedule development in the schools to ensure an educationally sound program.

Qualifications:

The Board of Education of the Ballston Spa Central School District is seeking a Superintendent of Schools for its approximately 4,300 student K-12 district. Ballston Spa is located in a growing suburban area of Saratoga County, about 25 miles northwest of the state capital of Albany. The nearby Adirondack Mountains and Green Mountains are but a few of the outstanding regional attractions. Boston, New York City and Montreal are all within an easy three-hour drive. Position Description:
The Rush-Henrietta Central School District seeks a strong leader with a successful record of achievement as a senior executive in public education and who is an effective communicator and problem-solver committed to educational excellence for all students. Candidates of diverse backgrounds and experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Known for its small class sizes, instructional technology, student-centered focus, music program, and rich diversity, the Rush-Henrietta Central School District serves 5,200 students. Located near Rochester, N.Y., the district is at once rural, suburban, and commercial, offering many lifestyle and recreational opportunities to those who live and work there. More than 1,200 people are employed by the district, which features four K-3 primary schools, two 4-6 intermediate schools, two 7-9 junior high schools, and a Senior High School for students in grades 10-12. With an annual district budget approaching $125 million, Rush-Henrietta continues to receive consistent support from the community. The salary will be regionally competitive (minimum $175,000) and will include a comprehensive benefits package. New York State certification as a School District Leader (SDL or SDA) is required. Residency in the district is required within one year. The anticipated start date for this position is July 1, 2018.
