New School Board Member Academy

The New Board Member Academies are designed to give board members foundational training to develop the knowledge and skills needed to contribute effectively to their governance teams. In this intensive training, participants explore board member roles and responsibilities, policy and standards; school law highlights, finance, communication, conduct at meetings, and key educational issues. Strong participation by superintendents, business officials, and other administrative leaders ensures a healthy blend of experience and viewpoints. The New Board Member Academies are being offered six times beginning in July and ending in October throughout the state.

This event will provide board members unique opportunities to meet with colleagues from across the state and to learn from distinguished board members and other experts from the education community.
