Advocacy Update: 2017 Annual Business Meeting Summary
October 16, 2017
Delegates at the 2017 Annual Business Meeting engaged in significant debate on a number of issues. This year, the delegates were presented with one proposed bylaw amendment and thirty-one resolutions. By the end of the meeting, delegates had elected the 2017 NYSSBA officers, adopted one amendment to the bylaws, extended two existing positions and adopted twenty-four new positions.
These positions will remain in effect as part of the Association's active program for five years, unless they are rescinded or achieved sooner. As a result, the NYSSBA governmental relations team will work toward advancing proposals that would implement these policy changes.
A full list of the adopted positions statements can be found below. NYSSBA's complete list of 2018 Position Statements will be distributed later this year.
