Advocacy Alert: 2018 Legislative Preview

Yesterday, the NYSSBA Governmental Relations team hosted a webinar discussing the recent election results and previewing the 2018 session and budget and legislative priorities.

In the weeks and months to come, NYSSBA Governmental Relations staff will be working to advance the Association's priorities.

NYSSBA Provides Comments on Net Neutrality

This week, the NYSSBA Governmental Relations team provided comments opposing the proposal by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to eliminate Net Neutrality. Unfortunately, the Commission voted yesterday afternoon to eliminate these protections. NYSSBA anticipates this being an issue addressed by Congress in the coming months.

Registration for 2018 NAI and Capital Conference Is Now Open

It is more critical than ever that policymakers in Albany and Washington hear from school board members about what districts need and how our students can be better supported.
