The evaluation of the superintendent is a vital responsibility of a board member. Hear what compels and requires us to execute good evaluations, plus what the research says about positive relations with your superintendent. Learn how an effective evaluation can support the leadership and impact positive change within your school district.

10:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Establishing an Evaluation Process That is Fair, Reliable and Evidence-Based

Your evaluation tool must incorporate measurable goals and standards, evaluation rubrics and supporting evidence. Learn how to establish goals that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and timely. Learn about the purpose and use of an evaluation rubric and learn to identify clear, unbiased supporting evidence.

12:15 - 12:30 p.m. Explore the Tools for Conducting the Process

NYSSBA’s instrument can be used in booklet form, writeable PDFs and a new online instrument powered by SuperEval. Hear how each of these formats can work for you.

Course fee includes resource materials, continental breakfast, lunch and a non-refundable $35 administrative fee. *Cancellations will not be refunded after the pre-registration/cancellation deadline, which is one week prior to the event. No-shows will be billed.

All NYSSBA member school boards are eligible for recognition in this program. Credit will accrue for listed events and activities for individuals serving on a NYSSBA member board.
Board members will earn 20 points for attending.
