Webinar: Bridging the Equity Divide through Board Policy
Date: November 16, 2020
Time: 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Recent news events have led many school boards to view public education as the principal vehicle to help eradicate racism and inequity in our nation. In that spirit, NYSSBA, in conjunction with the Commission on Diversity and Inclusivity of the New York State Council of School Superintendents (NYSCOSS), developed policy materials for district leadership teams to formalize and operationalize their commitment. These materials set forth goals and expectations, direct the collection and analysis of data, and establish culturally competent educational practices.
Attend this complimentary webinar for a detailed look at the policy materials, accessed here. Learn from a seasoned administrator how boards might best implement this policy to help advance the district’s mission in this regard.
Speakers: Jessica Goldstein, NYSSBA’s Deputy Director of Policy Services, Mary Williams-Noi, NYSSBA’s Policy Consultant, and Oliver Robinson, Superintendent of Schools of the Shenendehowa CSD
Your host for the program will be Jay Worona, NYSSBA’s Deputy Executive Director and General Counsel
