The St. Regis Falls Central School District Board of Education is seeking a committed, energetic leader for an enterprising, community-based school. St. Regis Falls Central School is a public Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12 school, class sizes of 12-26 students with about 259 students enrolled.

Qualifications:
The Board of Education requires a candidate who must:

  • Hold or be eligible for New York State certification as a School District Administrator or School District Leader.
  • Prioritize communication, effectively keeping the Board of Education well informed and maintaining open lines of communication between the school, parents, and the community.
  • Engage the community in educational program planning and implementation and budget planning and implementation.
  • Leads collaboratively by working with stakeholders to build consensus and acting as a team player.
  • Constantly searches for ways to improve the district and has a strong vision for creating continuous growth for all students.
  • Be a person of high moral character and unquestionable integrity who can instill credibility, confidence and pride in the school.
  • Be committed to upholding high professional standards and all school policies in a firm, fair and consistent manner.
  • Demonstrate successful administrative experience and a commitment to producing high quality educational programs that promote the development of engaged and successful students.
  • Possess the ability to maintain positive discipline and to command the respect of students, staff and the community.

Salary Range:
Up to $135,000

Position Description:
The Western Suffolk Board of Cooperative Education Services (BOCES) invites outstanding candidates to apply for the position of District Superintendent of Schools, with an anticipated start date of February 1, 2023.

The District Superintendent will serve as the local representative of the State Commissioner of Education by assisting local school districts in the implementation of New York State Education Law, the interpretation of the Commissioner's Regulations and the rules of the Board of Regents. The District Superintendent will additionally hold responsibilities assigned by the Board of Education in the direct supervision of services for our component school districts.

Western Suffolk BOCES is a regional education service agency which serves 18 school districts within the towns of Babylon, Huntington and Smithtown on Long Island, New York.

Qualifications:
Appropriate New York State Certification is required.

Salary Range:
Compensation will be determined by the Board on the basis of experience in compliance with state law which has set a salary cap and benefit limits

Legal Counsel (BOCES)

Position Description:
The Legal Counsel (BOCES) is responsible for providing professional and comprehensive legal services and labor relations services for both Capital Region BOCES and its participating school districts. The employee is responsible for acting as an advisor on any and all legal matters involving Capital Region BOCES or the school districts participating in the service. The Legal Counsel (BOCES) represents the administration of Capital Region BOCES and/or the participating school districts in a variety of legal and labor relations areas and it is incumbent upon the employee to afford the most appropriate and researched legal responses in all matters. The Legal Counsel (BOCES) will also serve on behalf of Capital Region BOCES and/or participating school districts as Chief Negotiator in contract negotiations, contract administration, policy development and implementation, and the administration of discipline and grievance procedures. Does related work as required.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Ten (10) years of experience in the practice of law within or for school districts in the State of New York.

Special Requirement:
Candidates must be admitted to practice before the bar of the State of New York.

Vacancies are filled by certified list provided by Albany County Civil Service. Should no certified list be available, candidates appointed to this position will be serving in a provisional appointment in accordance with New York State Civil Service Law. The candidate must successfully complete a competitive examination and be eligible for appointment in accordance with Civil Service Law and the Civil Service Rules for Albany County to obtain a permanent appointment.

Salary Range:
$100,000 - $150,000 commensurate with experience

The Orange Ulster Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) is seeking applicants for the position of District Superintendent.
