Matthew Wade of Brunswick was elected to a two-year term as Area 7 Director of the New York State School Boards Association. As Area 7 Director he represents school districts in Albany, Columbia, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Warren and Washington counties.
NYSSBA provides advocacy, training and information to school boards in support of their mission to govern the state’s public schools. The NYSSBA board establishes policies to supervise, control and direct the business of the Association.
Wade was elected to the Brunswick Central School Board in 2008. He has served as board president since 2011 and is vice president of the Capital District School Boards Association (CAPSBA).
Wade graduated from George Washington University in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and from RPI in 2009 with a master's degree in civil engineering. He is employed in the alternative energy field as a mechanical engineer.
Wade graduated in 2004 from Tamarac High School and from the Questar New Visions program. He is a life-long resident of Brunswick.
