Ruffo Elected to NYSSBA Board of Directors

Sandra Ruffo of Conklin was elected to a two-year term as Area 4 Director of the New York State School Boards Association. As Area 4 Director, Ruffo represents school districts from Broome, Cayuga, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Onondaga, Schuyler, Tioga and Tompkins counties.
NYSSBA provides advocacy, training and information to school boards in support of their mission to govern the state’s public schools. The NYSSBA board establishes policies to supervise, control and direct the business of the Association.
Ruffo is a 30-year veteran of school board service. Since 1995, Ruffo has been serving on the Broome-Delaware-Tioga BOCES Board (the last 10 years as president). She also served on the Susquehanna Valley Central School District Board for 18 years, with 15 of those years as president.
In addition to her current board service, Ruffo is also a member of the following school board committees: Scholarship Planning, Worker’s Compensation, Audit and the Board Retreat/Goal Planning.
Ruffo graduated from Binghamton University with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a nursing degree from SUNY Broome.
Ruffo will begin her board service in January 2015.
