Call to Action: Reform the Tax Cap

February 12, 2016

The 2016 budget process is more complicated than ever, in part because the 0.12% growth factor in the calculation of district tax caps will allow virtually no growth in district tax levies without supermajority approval.

Connect, Engage, Act: 2016 Capital Conference

Later this month, school board members from around the state will converge in Albany to meet with elected officials as a part of our Capital Conference. Join us and hear from New York State's new Deputy Secretary of Education, Jere Hochman.

On Sunday evening, Dr. Hochman will share his perspective on major policy matters before the Governor and state legislature. Hear his thoughtful approach and learn about his commitment to our public schools.

Drawing from four decades of experience in public education, first as an English teacher, then as a principal and most recently as superintendent at the Bedford Central School District, he understands the challenges facing our schools today.

Call your legislators and schedule your appointments for February 29th today!

Register for the Conference below.
