Updated Budget Advocacy

The Governmental Relations Team has updated NYSSBA’s Budget Priorities to reflect the “one-house” budgets that were released on Tuesday. We encourage you to participate and send the updated version to your legislators using our online system. If you have previously sent one, you are able to send another. Please share it with your community members and edit it to include personalization for your board needs. You can find the letter here.

For those still meeting with their local representatives, we have updated our budget priorities sheet. We encourage you to review them and use them in your meetings. You can find them here.

Legislative Budget Proposals Released

Both the Senate and Assembly released their “one-house” budgets on Tuesday, laying out their respective reactions to the executive budget proposal and other fiscal and policy priorities. The release of the one-house budgets generally represents the beginning of the home stretch of state budget negotiations, in advance of the April 1 due date.

NYSSBA Governmental Relations has reviewed both one-house budgets and drafted an analysis, which you can read through the links below.

Finalized Budget Webinar

After the release of the final budget, we will be hosting a webinar to review its impact on our members. We do not have an official date yet as it is dependent on the delivery of the final budget. Please check our NYSSBA events page for details when registration opens.
