The NYSSBA AccelerateSM Program is the Essential Resource for New School Board Members

Designed to help new members acclimate to school district governance, the NYSSBA AccelerateSM program covers key roles, responsibilities and best practices for school board members

By following this program, you will gain a strong understanding of governance, decision-making, budgets and policies—leading to informed decisions that support student success.

A well-prepared new school board member demonstrates professionalism and accountability, which inspires public confidence in district leadership.

We encourage you to participate in this complimentary program. While you are not required to follow the program in order, the suggested timeline aligns with your first year of service for a structured and effective onboarding experience.
