The state constitution entitles every child to a sound basic education. Adequate and predictable state aid is one of the most important ways the state fulfills that obligation. In that vein, NYSSBA strives to ensure that the state budget provides our school districts with the necessary resources to prepare all students for college and career. Our advocacy efforts here are guided by five main principles: adequacy, equity, flexibility, predictability and clarity. Here you will find information on state funding proposals and examples of NYSSBA’s advocacy to ensure that school districts receive adequate and equitable state funding.
