Position Description:
The Salmon River Central School District is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Superintendent of Schools during an important period of reflection, accountability, and renewal for the district.
The Board of Education is working with Dale Breault, District Superintendent of Franklin-Essex-Hamilton BOCES, to conduct a comprehensive superintendent search. As part of this process, Mr. Breault is collaborating with the Board to develop a detailed district and candidate profile, which will be informed by a broad community and school-based survey and released at a later date. Given the district’s current circumstances, however, the Board wishes to begin soliciting applications without delay.

Position Description:
The Whitney Point Central School District Board of Education is searching for its next Superintendent of Schools. The district is located in the Southern Tier of New York and serves approximately 1,387 students in grades PreK through 12 across three buildings: Caryl E. Adams Primary School (PreK–3), Tioughnioga Riverside Academy (4–8) and Whitney Point High School (9–12).
The successful candidate will begin employment on July 1, 2026. Initial interviews will be confidential, with only finalists meeting with stakeholder groups. Whitney Point is a rural district spanning portions of Broome, Tioga, Cortland and Chenango counties. The district covers approximately 138 square miles and functions as a proud community school with strong partnerships and community engagement.

This is a newly created position due to continued growth and expansion of the leadership team at the Delaware County Intermediate Unit. The Assistant to the Executive Director is accountable for the strategic visioning and administration of various departments and serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team. This position is expected to provide leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive system of services and programs. Furthermore, this position is responsible for ensuring there are proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, financial controls for large scale budgets, and people systems are in place to effectively grow the organization. Key to this position is entrepreneurialism as Intermediate Units are service organizations and must evolve based on the needs of our stakeholders, working closely with Boards and customers.

Primary Performance Responsibilities:
