High School Principal

Position Description:
Student enrollment in 2018-19 of 2050, with 725 students at the High School in grades 9-12. More than 300 faculty, support staff and administrators make up the team of dedicated employees district-wide, with a High School staff of 100. Each stands behind a school community that prides itself on state-of-the-art facilities that include wireless internet campus-wide, a collegiate level athletic and fitness center, and a beautifully designed performing arts center with an attached art gallery, as examples. The 2019-2020 approved budget of $48,487,531 supports a beautiful 56-acre campus where all four schools are located as well as the Transportation Center and District Offices. The Lewiston Police Department offices are also located the campus. All buildings are within walking distance of one another, creating a unique sense of community. Lewiston-Porter High School is a beacon for the entire district. It is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. The school offers an exciting variety of courses and activities to help prepare students for post-secondary education and/or future careers including award winning art and music programs, a NAF affiliated Academy of International Business, membership in the International Super Science network and a robust International Studies program that provides cultural and educational exchanges with schools in Argentina, China, Germany and Turkey. Most recently F-1Visa, tuition paying students that live on the Niagara University campus have been accepted to study at the High School. The school offers more than 20 Advanced Placement and College accelerated courses and, for the 2019-20 school year added the Chinese language to it Regents LOTE offerings. Over 40 percent of the students participate in interscholastic athletics. There are over 35 extra-curricular offerings for students to explore and develop social, vocational, and cultural interests.

Qualifications:
Candidates must possess or be eligible for appropriate New York State administrative certification. Must be: - a successful educator with classroom teaching and secondary administrative experiences, who regularly will be visible in the school and at events and will get to know students, parents and staff in meaningful ways. -a person of character with a demonstrated record of trust and collaboration who will provide fair and consistent leadership for the staff, the student body and the larger high school community. -a visionary leader who has experience with and supports all aspects of a high school education including, but not limited to: academics, including special area subjects and international educational experiences; the visual and performing arts; and co-curricular activities and interscholastic athletics, and one who will look to further develop these and other educational opportunities for all students. -a proven instructional leader who will analyze the current instructional and staff development programs and will make and actively support related recommendations accordingly. -An experienced leader with superior listening and communication skills with all constituencies who will be decisive and provide clear rationale for decisions, supporting students, staff, parents, and school and District policies and procedures as the facts and circumstances may warrant. -An educator of the utmost integrity who will make a longer-term commitment to lead the high school in an atmosphere of mutual respect and accountability.

Position Title:
Assistant Director-Strategic Planning

  • Serve as a member of the LHRIC Senior leadership team
  • Ensure the programs operated by the Regional Information Center comply with federal and state regulations
  • Provide thought leadership/partnership and expertise in NYSED initiatives and innovative practices
  • Supervise various departments as needed including Network Support and Cybersecurity
  • Direct and coordinate activities of internal cross-functional collaboration within departments and liaison to other state regional information centers maintaining external business relationships
  • Work in conjunction with service managers on technical and educational technology matters, both internally and externally
  • Build/extend relationships with school district partners by assisting schools/districts in developing, monitoring, and evaluating technology needs
  • Assist with the development of new services and the revision or strengthening of current services
  • Facilitate the involvement of component district representatives in NYSED annual 793 plan
  • Assist with the business and management aspects of the Center (budget, program descriptions, partnerships, evaluation, etc.)
  • Assist with supervision and evaluation of staff
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of seven (7) years of work experience in which the primary function was systems management, project management and or customer account management in a data processing environment; OR a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Business Administration and five (5) years of related work experience; Minimum of two (2) years work experience in a supervisory capacity. Mission driven mindset; Thorough knowledge of technology’s application to an educational environment including detailed understanding of network technology trends, designs, and implementations; Excellent communication skills; Ability to travel to schools and districts throughout the region and surrounding areas; Ability to provide support in leadership for field-based consultants/teams; Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team, and to interface diplomatically with all levels of staff, contractors, teachers, and school administration; Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Salary Range:
$150,000-$170,000

Position Description:
The Board of Education of the Ichabod Crane School District (aka, Kinderhook Central School District) is seeking a highly qualified educational leader to become its next Superintendent of Schools. The confidential search process will be conducted over the next three months with the successful candidate to begin employment on/about January 21, 2020. After thirty-seven years of service to the District, the last ten as Superintendent, Dr. Dawn Santiago-Marullo has announced her retirement, effective July 17, 2019.
