NYSSBA’s Board Excellence Recognition Program acknowledges the extensive time and effort required of school board members who continually strive to expand their knowledge and skills for better board governance. NYSSBA members earn points for participating in NYSSBA training opportunities, including the Annual Convention and regional workshops, and for taking on board-related roles such as Board President and NYSSBA’s Advocacy Liaison. Eligibility
All NYSSBA member school boards are eligible for this program. Points will accrue based on participation in events and activities, as listed below, for individuals serving on a NYSSBA member board. Board members from districts that are not members of NYSSBA are not eligible for recognition under this program.
Administration
Please note the annual cutoff date for point accumulation is March 31. NYSSBA will maintain records of members’ participation in credit-earning activities, review accumulated points, and issue the appropriate recognition. Board members also are encouraged to maintain a personal record of all participation in NYSSBA training opportunities.
