Recognition Program

NYSSBA’s Recognition Program acknowledges the extensive time and effort required of school board members who continually strive to expand their knowledge and skills for better board governance. NYSSBA members earn credits for participating in NYSSBA training opportunities, including the Annual Convention and regional workshops – check out the point value for NYSSBA events.

Award Levels

Level 1:  Board Achievement Award  (75 points)

All NYSSBA member school boards are eligible for recognition in this program.  Credit will accrue for listed events and activities for individuals serving on a NYSSBA member board.  Board members from districts that are not members of NYSSBA are not eligible for recognition under this program.

NYSSBA will maintain records of members’ participation in credit-earning activities. Anually, NYSSBA will review accumulated credits and issue the appropriate recognition. Board members are also encouraged to maintain a personal record of all participation in NYSSBA training opportunities.
