John S. Daley joined the New York State School Boards Association as a governmental relations representative in January 2020.

Daley has worked in both houses of the legislature. He began his career as legislative director to Assembly member John T. McDonald III. Daley went on to serve in the Office of Program and Counsel of Senator Jeffrey D. Klein. There he participated in State Budget negotiations and managed legislation in the Senate Committees on Local Government and Veterans, Homeland Security, and Military Affairs. He was Committee Director for the New York State Senate Standing Committee on Consumer Protection under Senator David Carlucci. Prior to joining NYSSBA, Daley served as Deputy Commissioner of Public Safety for the City of Saratoga Springs.

Daley is a graduate of Siena College, where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Finance. He also holds a Juris Doctor from Albany Law School and a Master of Business Administration from Union Graduate College.
